One more reason for me to NOT like soccer. They have to play in the rain. That is not even the worst part. The worst part is that I have to stand in the rain and watch it! Arael had a game today and it was cancelled because of the thunder but OMG it was pouring. Come on...really? It may be cold for basketball but at least it is inside where it is warm and dry. The anti-basketball=soccer. I don't think I will ever like this sport.
I got to see Arael play soccer the other day. Much to my surprise, she's pretty good. Now I know what you are thinking, she's very athletic, good at basketball of course she can play soccer. I wasn't so sure. This is becasue she hasn't played since the 2nd grade. I have to admit, I 'm not a big fan of Soccer. In fact, I can't stand the sport. The main reason for this is that I don't underhand it. First, there are way to many people on the field and there's a rule called off sides, that basically says, no fast break allowed. Oh, and you can not use your hands (unless you are in the goal)! What kind of weird sport is that. I don't know but I don't like it. I have been told that I better learn the sport because all 4 of my kids are going to play. Ya, well, I can fake it. The ball has to go in the other teams goal. Maybe one of the boys will play in goal, like Matt did, at least I understand that position. There are only a couple months until basketball starts and things can go back to normal.
Arael got her braces on this past Wednesday. She is just starting to feel better. She has been told that it will be 2 years. That is a heck of a long time. All of her friends have braces right now, really like 50-60% of them, it's weird. Oh, and Arael had her first dance this past Friday. I was told that she did not dance at all. I'm not surprised, she's just like her father. My mother told me not to marry anyone that didn't like to dance. Well, I messed that one up. She is not even a kid that hears the music and can't sit still. She is unphased by it. Where did she come from? Now, Zachary, he can't sit still when there is music. It's great. Oh, well. The boys are all doing great. All 4 of them seem to really like school and their teachers. Life is yet again crazy and there is no sign of things slowing down.

It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since 9/11. I never thought I would say, "I remember exactly what I was doing when ..." Just as my parents can tell me where they were when Kennedy was shot. I was home sitting on the couch watching The Today Show. It was a Tuesday. I know this because Matt was home, it was his Tuesday, Wednesday off when he worked for Kinneys. The twins were almost 7 months old and Arael was a little over 2. She sat on the couch with me and asked me "Mommy, why are you crying?" . What do you tell a 2 year old?
We went to Church today, it is time for Tyler to start classes for his first communion. Near the Church on the St.Lawrence campus was a sea of mini American Flags. The music before church was very patriotic. The kids said "What is going on, this is not church music?" I said "Today is September 11. It has been 10 years." Arael knowingly said "ohhhh" Tyler remained a little confused but he really couldn't focus anyway. He drew pictures all through mass and gave one to each of us. It's actually a good thing because otherwise he would talk all through (I have no idea where he gets that from) One of the last pictures he drew was of a man falling to the ground from the sky. I said "what is that?" He said "A man jumped from an airplane." I said "Where is his parachute?" So he gave him a parachute and drew in the plane. They were coming around for he collection and Ty says "I'm gonna put this in there." I said "No, Tyler you can't. Do you know what happened 10 years ago today?" He looked confused so I continued. "Today we are remembering that terrorists flew 2 plans into 2 buildings in NYC and a lot of people died." He looked like I slapped him. He said, "Well, then this is offensive." "Yep, buddy it is." I never talked to him about it. It's just a coincidence that he drew a man jumping from an airplane, or is it? Tyler never ceases to amaze me.
We went to dinner a few weeks back and we were talking about my grandmother. Tyler says "Oh, Ya I know her. I've met her." Now let me back up a minute. About 3 years ago Tyler drew a picture and he came to me and said "Mom, doesn't that look like Elvis." I said "well, ya, but how do you know who Elvis is?" He said, "I know Elvis mom, I've met him." I said," Tyler, Elvis dies before you were born, he died before I was born. There is no way you can know Elvis." "Yes, mom, I know Elvis." I let it go figuring my mother-in-law showed him a picture since he spent a lot of time with her and she is a fan. When I asked her she said she had never mentioned Elvis to Tyler. hmmmm? Okay back to grandma.
So Tyler says "Oh, ya I know Grandma I met her." I said "Tyler there is no way you could have met her, she died before any of you kids were born." He said, "No, mom, I know I have met her." Again, I let it go. He seemed so convinced. Arael decided to chime in. "He probably does mom, after all he knows Elvis."
Today is also, Grandparents Day. The boys and Matt went with Grandpa Dave to golf. Arael went to a friends and I find myself alone with a dog that has been acting very squirrely. Not sure what that's about. I am jumpy enough without a dog that is freaking out. But I digress....
I am headed to Buffalo on Wednesday and then to the Valley. I am not sure how I will handle seeing all that has happened there with the flood. You see stuff like that on the T.V. all the time and as one of my friends said, "you never imagine it will be in your back yard".
I hope everyone has a good week and for those of you in recovery mode, my thoughts and prayers are with you. The most soothing words you can hear right now are "I know how you feel, I have been where you are." I speak from experience. It is nice to know that you are not alone. If you can see someone who has gone though this and know that they are okay, it gives you hope. Hope is your best friend right now.
Kids went back to school today and I have no job. That means I will get a lot done around the house. Maybe...I am still working to get my business up and running. It's taking longer than we thought but we'll get there. I am hoping to have it going with in the month. I am also going to start back up with P90X... today. No really. I have to. I felt so much better when I was doing that and now that I have no excuse for not having any time, I will start. Besides, I told Matt I was going to and he won't let me get away with anything. So, I am off to exercise, clean and work on the business. Boy, for my first day off I have a lot to do!
