Despite the heavy rain in Lake George for 2 of the 3 days we were there, we all had a wonderful time. We went to Six Flags, Great Escape on Tuesday. We only got a little wet from the rain. Tuesday night we went to a Japanese Hibachi (had to use dictionary.com for that one). It was very good and the kids enjoyed the show and even ate some of the food, or at least tried it.
I think it's wonderful that all of the cousins are so close. Having grown up close to my cousins, I am happy that my children get to have some of those same memories. My kids will have their grandmother ready to shut down the park because of a little thunder and the threat of rain. I have my grandmother yelling at my cousin and I because we wouldn't eat any dried fruit and then got a lecture on how fruit was good for us. Better yet, when another of my cousins along with my sister and I, side swiped a tree in one of the farm vehicles. Ahh, good times, but I digress. My point is, and I do have one, that these kids will be close as adults because we have made it a priority that we all get together when ever we can now.
So, hopefully we can get together again soon, but realistically it's very hard. The kids are ages 16, 15, 14, 12, 12, 10, 10, 10, 7. They are all involved in sports and other activities that make it difficult to get together as often as we would like. Even if we can't get together as much as we would like, we will all make our yearly family vacation a priority.
