Basketball starts November 8th. I am so excited to be coaching JV girls this year. It is going to be a lot more work than the modified that I did for the last 3 years. I think it will be a good season. I will be getting players I have already coached. That could be good or bad. I was a pushover on modified. That will not be the case this year. I feel like I have something to prove. They may not like me when it's over. I coach like my dad at practice. I am really relaxed and I want the girls to have a good time. I am more like my mother when I coach games. I yell and scream the whole time, but always positive feedback. My mothers voice was the only one that I could hear during my high school games. She was pretty excitable. Maybe mom and can get up to see me coach this season.
I finished my book. It is now in the editing phase. I have no idea how long this will take. I have a few more scenes to tweak. I have changed and added a lot. So, for those of you who have already read a few chapters, you gotta start over!
I am taking a class on line to get my coaching certification. That goes for 3 more weeks.
I am getting certified in anticoagulation therapy. I am taking a class on line for that right now. I will get certified and then start working towards my national certification. The national part takes about a year to complete, with all the training and logging of hours. I am excited to do this. Right now I am working about 30 hours a week. That may be more once I start seeing patients.
I have been bartending on Thursdays, noon to three. It is great fun. I don't have to think about anything. I have all these men, 65 and older come in. We call it needy Thursday. They all want your undivided attention. I have never done anything like this before. I am not a very good bartender but I can talk to anyone about anything. (big surprise there)
I am home most days by 4 to be with the kids.
I am helping coach Araels basketball team right now. They are playing great ball. She is in 6th grade and these girls have been playing together since they were in 3rd grade. It shows and they are fun to watch. Her games are Wednesday and Fridays. Tournaments on some Saturdays.
Then there is football Sunday. We have a few friends over every Sunday for the Cowboys game (or the Giants) and I make dinner for everyone. I love to do it. I have been doing that for a few years now. The kids look forward to it as well.
That is pretty much it. Sometimes I get to see my husband. He is taking the coaching class with me.
As you can see I am a crazy woman. I am not sure what I would give up if I had to make a choice. Once basketball is over things still don't slow down. Matt coaches varsity baseball with Rob. So I cover the store for him for the spring.
Perhaps when my kids are grown and move out, it will slow down.
That seems to far away and to be honest with you I would never wish this time away. Besides all of this my biggest challenge right now is getting Tyler (my youngest at 6) to wear pants to school. It snowed yesterday! Really? Yes, really. Welcome to the North Country. I guess I have rambled enough today. Now that I have my crazy life on paper it doesn't seem do bad. I am off the work, then chart reviews in canton and Araels game at 6. Never a dull moment. I love it!
